Jar Of Flowers

For these cards below I have used the Jar of Flowers stamp set from the Flowers For Every Season Suite of Stampin' Up! products also the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.

This card is the first card I made using the technique of domes filled with water which is why I have not added gems inside the jar (just in case I had problems).
The first step when making this card was to select which designs of paper I wanted to use together for the wall behind the vase of flowers and the table/bench top. Once these were cut to size and attached together I used the coordinating Jar punch to Punch out the shape of the Jar. I then stamped the image of the jar from the stamp set in Basic Gray, coloured it in and punched it out using the jar punch. Next I cut out a piece of clear Acetate (plastic) a little larger than the size of the outside edge of the jar dome. I then peeled off the top side adhesive protector piece revealing the adhesive and carefully slid this into the hole and pressed all around the edges to make sure it was completely attached. (The domes already have a strong double sided tape on each side of the edges.)  Flipping over the entire piece I placed it onto my flat workspace supporting it with one hand I carefully filled it half-way with water, then carefully peeled off the remaining adhesive protector piece and placed the pre-prepared piece of Acetate pressing on it to ensure it was completely sealed before carefully turning it up to check that it had no leaks. Wow that was a lot easier than I expected! Once this is complete then the rest is easy, just like making any other card. I attached the image of the stems in the jar I had previously made onto the clear acetate lining it up with the shape of the jar dome. I used Stampin' Up!'s All purpose liquid glue to attach this whole card front piece to the Smoky Slate card base.
The multi purpose glue from Stampin' Up! is a lot like PVA however I have found it to be a lot stickier and when I first used it I had everything sticking to me. Normally I would wipe excess glue off with my fingers then wipe my hands onto a tissue however this time the tissue stuck to me and then whatever else I touched before getting the wipes out, did too😆!
Anyway once this was done I left it to dry. While it was drying I stamped the image of the flowers that I had decided to use in Momento Tuxedo Black as this ink does not get affected by the Stampin' Blends which are Alcohol based markers, which I coloured the image in with. I also chose my sentiment and stamped it in Smoky Slate (the same colour as the card base), then die cut it using a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies which would fit nicely onto the card. Now that the card was dry I attached the flowers to the card using Dimensionals (foam adhesive) to give them dimension and attached the sentiment greeting flat to the front of the card. I decorated the front with some sequins. On the inside of the card I stamped part of the posy of flowers I used on the front up the outside edge as can be seen in the photo. I used the stamping off technique to give the bunch of flowers a dimensional effect as some appear closer than others.

When making this card I used the same techniques as above however being more confident this time I added gems into the jar dome before adding the water. This time I used different papers and a different bunch of flowers for the posy/bouquet.
Also adding Butterfly Gems and a key trinket I have, to use them up, onto the front of the card, this time the sentiment is a birthday greeting using the same Die however turned 180 degrees to give it a different look. On the inside of this card I have used the same technique as above however this time I chose to try out my watercolour pencils and was not let down at all.

This card is made in the same way as the above cards however this time I used a different shade of bricks from the first card and coordinated colours to compliment it using Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase. I have also used yet another posy of flowers, this one is roses also adding a piece of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the top of the jar. Inside the jar I have also added a couple of pieces of sequins to see how they go with the water, so far there has been no colour loss😊. The sentiment on this one says Congratulations which is not from Stampin' Up! as I have made this card for a particular purpose for someone I know, however the banner it sits upon is from the Ornate Frames Dies and you could Stamp any sentiment onto it or use the Well Written Dies to add something else you might like. Again I have decorated it using the Butterfly Gems available from Stampin' Up! and the keys which I am trying to use up from a last years Annual Catalogue. The inside of this card is stamped up the inside edge using the same method as previously used and again coloured using the Watercolour pencils.

This last Card is still made in the same way yet has a completely different look with the tiles. The flowers in this bouquet are sunflowers and a type of banksia.  The cardbase of this card is Night of Navy which matches the tiles in the background. For the sentiment on this card I used White Stampin' Emboss and heated it to set it on another piece of Night of Navy cardstock, this time I used a die from the Hippo and Friends Dies. I have decorated the inside of this card halfway up using the same techniques- stamping off to give a more distant visage adding dimension and again used the Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils to colour it in.

Above is a picture of what the Mason Jar Shaker Domes look like with the adhesive on both sides of the edging around the domes.
